Kiera smiled again and then stepped back puttinga distance between them more for the eyes of the guards than anything else,
"I knew you would have said goodbye if you could off!" She eyed him from under her fringe which had fallen over one eye.
"You look well!"

Arthas subconsciously looked at himself, to the old cloak that marked his station back in Kralos, to the old boots and leggings worn by travel, and resisted the urge to dust himself off and straighten himself out.
"Aye, I'm looking okay, but compared to you..." He resisted every urge to run a hand along her smooth features. A wave of barely masked frustration swept through him, for feelings that were not returned and, obviously, never abated with his long absence from her. "Kiera... you look... just beautiful."

Kiera smiled
"You always were sweet Arthas" it was true despite the troubles Chepi had had the years had been kind to her but she wasnt one to dwell on her looks
"So where have you been? travelling?"

Arthas became pensive. "Avenging my wife," he replied. He had figured out early enough that his "wife" was, in fact, in league with the very people he was after for so long. The very thought that Leila was just a minion who played with his heartstrings like a marionette and nearly had him killed in the process set his blood boiling, but he soon had it under control.
"She's been avenged, as have all the others who died in his..." He paused, suddenly realizing. "Funny; in all the time we were together, I don't think I ever elaborated just what I was doing. Suffice to say, I had stayed in Chepi far longer than I had expected." Then he added demurely: "Not that it wasn't good."

Post by Chandira on Jun 22, 2007 15:11:23 GMT
A woman with a long nose went to approach the Queen and her friend. Chandira was standing watching the Queen, but both the Queen and Arthas could not see her. The beaked woman walked past Chandira carrying paper for Kiera to sign.
She could sight of the Queen and began to call on her. "Oh Ma'am! I have a few pap...." She was dragged aside by Chandira.
"What do you think you're doing?!" She said loudly. "The Queen is... busy. With an old friend." Chandria told her.
"But I need her to sign these, right away." She said most rudly to the Queen's Bodyguard.
Chandira snatched the paper off the woman. "Then I shall give them to her." The woman, rather offended stormed off.
Chandira held the papers tight and folded her arms and turned back to watch the Queen and Arthas. "This could be the start of something good in her life..." She whispered to herself. Maybe this man was a good suitor for the Queen of Chepi. Chandira would wait and play her cards right. It was about time the Queen had more of a life other than duty, and Chandria was happy for her to do so.

His chest swelled. Her smile and words nearly set him aflame. He wanted to take her in his arms again, re-admit every feeling he had for her, but was suddenly very aware of eyes on him; the guards that guarded the gate scrutinized him very closely. He trained his face again.
"You don't need to thank me, Kiera. I felt an... an obligation to help you. I just regret that more important things kept me from staying to help you." He bowed. "And with no constraints, I am more than happy to be here for you for as long as this body of mine can, if it's all right with Your Majesty."

Kiera smiled and nodded her heart feeling warmer than it had for years
"Thank you Arthas, there is no obligation for you to be here but I am glad you are!" she smiled again sensing another person close by.
"Chandira do you want me for something?"

Chandira stepped out of the shadows with the papers, she quickly stuffed them into the boot.
"No, Your Majesty. Sir." She said greeting him once more.
"Mika, Tripal!" She called to the two guards close to the Queen and the man that clearly liked the Queen. They moved quick to Chandira's side.
"Your Majesty." She said to say goodbye, she winked at Kiera. She gave a big smile and walked off with the two guards. Now Kiera and Arthas had Privicy. Chandira could be heared for a second before dissapearing into the Court with the two guards to re-post them

Arthas trained his face, trying hard not to blush as Chandira came out of hiding. She was watching?!? But then his masked horror turned to curiousity. Why did she call back the guards? This is the gate, and... Realization clicked into place in his head. Chandira, thank you. Goddess give me strength. He stepped forward and took Kiera's hand. "Kiera, I...I..."
His mind went blank, and then was a frenzy of activity. He just had the words seconds before. "I...I...Kier...I..." Why now? Great Goddess, why now? She's right here.

Arthas collected himself as best as he could, reasured somewhat by contact with Kiera. "Kiera..." he took a deep breath, "...I was out of Chepi for so long, as far away as physically possible from you, combing the world for a madman. I had hoped that that would distract me, that focusing on him would get you out of my system. It didn't.
"When things were bleak, and I thought of good times, you were in most of them. When I saw death, no matter how far, I worried you might be among the dead. Even when I took a lover, even when she died..."
He bit his lip, fearing he may have said too much. "I love you, Kiera, with all my heart, and you know it." And then his mind once again stopped working, and he reverted to mumbling and stammering.

Kiera nodded slowly encouraging him. She closed her eyes gently then opened them again touching his face.
"Arthas I love you to but I fear not in the way you love me, I have been alone for so long and when I wasnt I had my heart broken beyond menidng whilst I love you I worry that I cannot give you what you want, be who you want! I am Sidhe we do not just take to one person unless out of habit or a deep bond, I cannot promise you will be that person." she leaned forward and kissed him softly on the lips before stepping back.
"I can only say that I know we would be good together but I am not willing to make any promises I am not and never have been a faithful creature Arthas as long as you understand this and we can see how things go!" she smiled gently
"I need to be alone a while, do not take this as a no Arthas for it isnt! It is a hesitant yes with conditions! If you can cope with what I have said then fair enough if not............I do not wnat to loose your freindship!" she smiled again then turned and walked from the gate, leaving him with her words.

Chandira passed the Queen as she left the gate. She bowed as she passed but the Queen seemed to look right through her.
"Sir?" Chandira said to Arthas. She didn't know what to say to him, she didn't want to embarras him.

Arthas held his fingers to his lips, nearly euphoric. Kiera's words after the kiss passed through his head, barely registered. It'll work out. he told himself, Goddes Inoro, I...
A voice broke him from his reverie. He began to greet her, only to realize he had forgotten her name. "Um...Ch...I..." He sighed, "Thank you... very much, Miss."
