"Chandira." she said remiding him of her name. She could see that the Queen's answer wasn't the one he must of wanted to hear.
"It didn't go well? Eh?" She folded her arms. She was not the emotional type. She was not the social type.

Arthas shook his head. "No, Chandira, it went much better than I had thought it would... much better." He removed his fingers; he could still feel her lips. "Thank you..." He cleared his throat, a hint of color coming to his face. "How... how long were you watching?"

She gave a warm smile. There was something about him she liked. He could make her Queen happy, he was a good man.
"Don't worry about that, I was only on guard to make sure you wasn't interupted. Im a Bodyguard, not a peeping tom. Don't worry." She remembered the papers in her boot. She would have to give them to the Queen to sign.
"I could see that you two had a little, something. So I thought I would clear the way, thats why I took the guards away. I can imagine how embarrasing it can be to do that with an audience."

"Yeah, I... thought as much..." Arthas was blatantly reminded of his Achille's heel; he thought he had done so well keeping his feelings under wraps. It worked so well before, but apparently, now that the danger's passed, he was still as readable as a child.
He ran a hand through his hair distractedly. "Listen, I know I'm getting repetitive, but I can't thank you enough. You could have just as easily turned me away; I know it seemed like I was a stalker or something. I'm really glad I could see her again."

Chandira got closer to whisper something to him.
"There is going to be a big party here next week. Now, it is supposed to be only the Timlarian Royalty attending, but I am sure I can slip you in. I shall have my men keep an eye out for you. Remember, next week." She said before giving him a farewell bow.
"I must go now, sir." She left.

Arthas grinned wide. "A party... sounds..." He looked back down on his ratty clothes. "I need a suit! I can't be among royalty like this."
Distractedly, he strode off towards town, muttering to himself about all the things he'd need to do.

Arthas led the way to the gate, looking frazzled and just about ready to leap at anything that moved. Try as he might, he couldn't shake the vague feeling of danger that haunted him all through the day. It roused a deep paranoia in him; he began swiveling around frantically as though Gabriel would ambush him at any moment.
"Arghh!" he swung at the air in his frustration. "He's somewhere, I know he is! Well, of course he's somewhere, but... I mean... Gah!" He began scrutinizing the faces of the guards on duty, had to restrain himself when a flock of birds came bursting from the bushes. "This is ridiculous!"

Kiera struggled to hide a laugh as Arthas jumped and grumbled about.
"Arthas! Calm down we are safe in here he cant in!" she gestured to the high iron gate and the armoured guards either side.
"Who is he anyways?" she tipped her head to one side a small smile spliting her cherry red lips. her long silver hair falling over one shoulder.

Arthas took a shaky breath, forcing himself to stop looking around and met Kiera's gaze. Her reassuring smile, though not completely dispelling, helped to lessen the dangerous hunch. He blushed, thinking about how childish he must have seemed to her, leaping at shadows.
"Gabriel," he explained, "was one of the people I had met on my journey. He got involved with Gresol- the man I'd been searching for- through the latter's subterfuge. Gabriel had saved a young woman that Gresol was planning to kidnap, and we met by chance while he was taking her back home.
That young woman was caught in the cross-fire when I had caught up with Gresol." He sighed. "She was the one Gabriel mentioned as being... 'mauled' he described to you? It wasn't by my hand, but apparently he blames me for it."
He looked to the side, unconsiously, feeling the danger sense returning. Chastising himself, he turned back to Kiera. "In short, he's an after-product of my revenge. Hopefully the only one.

Nearby, a sparrow landed on the wall and regarded the two with an unnatural curiosity. Gabriel hadn't planned on getting this close a second time today, but something overrode his senses. He felt drawn to him, called by some bizarre force.
No, not to Arthas, thought Gabriel. Something near him? Something on his person? He needed to get closer to find out.
Gabriel flitted over to a nearby tree, landed in the branches, and emerged a red-furred squirrel. He bounded around the two, trying to appear as normal and innocent as an average squirrel to the casual observer. (And really, who would sincerely scrutinize a squirrel?)
He stared at them, twitching his tail in consternation. What am I looking for here? This is so irksome.

kiera nodded listening quietly. She didnt know really what to say to make him feel better it was obvious he was truely frightened by Gabriel or rather perhaps by what he would do.
"Well if it wasnt by your hand he cant seriously blame you surely? thats ridiculous!" she sighed she knew what it was like to be a scape goat every situation needed one and it looked like gabriel had made Arthas his. She glanced at a squirrel that was bounding around them and smiled, since peace had come back to chepi again it wasnt unusal for them to recieve these kinds of visitors at the court, she watched for a few seconds then paid no more mind to it.
"What are you going to do? I mean if he is as real a threat as you seem to think how are you going to handle the situation?"

"Feh." He unslung his travel sack, letting it fall to the ground. "Doesn't matter much to him whether I killed her. It's my fault she got caught in the middle. And besides, her real killer is dead now, so he can't get his revenge there."
He took a look around at the peacefulness of the court. It was too quiet for Arthas' nerves; he frowned. "Gabriel is my problem, but as much as I'd wish otherwise, you're probably going to get sucked in as well. You must promise me to have as little to do with this as possible. I care about you too much; he's going to use that against me."

The call grew more insistent, louder, until it all but drowned out Gabriel's sensibilities. He curled up defensively, tail twitching, until it finally began to subside. And then the call, which before was little more than an indistinct cry, began to enter his mind in the form of words.
I must be used, he who wields the scepter.
Who are you? Gabriel asked.
I am but a bauble, King of Beasts. A bauble that has been imprisoned by he who causes your grief. I can ease your pain, child of man, for I am one akin to both the scepter and the jewel.
And you wish to be freed from him? Gabriel pondered for a moment. Tell me where you are then, bauble.
I may be found in the bag of he who slayed my former bearer.
Slowly, carefully, Gabriel began to approach the travel sack on the ground.
